The Minister of the Environment Mr. Dick Roche, TD officially opened the Ballycoolen Training Centre on 5th July 2005.

The Ballycoolen Regional Training Centre is a dedicated training facility comprising of 3 training rooms, including an IT training room, a workshop area, meeting room, canteen, offices and changing rooms.

The Centre serves the needs of the following 9 local authorities in the Leinster region; Dublin City Council, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, Fingal County Council, Kildare County Council, Louth County Council, Meath County Council, South Dublin County Council, Westmeath County Council and Wicklow County Council.
