The establishment of the Regional Training Centre marks another step in the provision of a National Network of Training Centres to serve the training needs for staff working in Sanitary Services of the Local Authority. The need was highlighted in 1993 and as a result the Water Services National Training Group was set up to examine the Training needs and to make recommendations on how to address these needs. Members of the group consist of representatives from Department of the Environment and Local Government, Local Authorities, FAS, the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Federation of Group Water Schemes
